Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 12 pieces Crayons (variety of colors) Encourages creativity and vibrant colors.
  • 1 piece Star-shaped silicone mold Easily found in crafting sections.
  • 1 optional Baking sheet To stabilize the molds in the oven.
  • 1 each Oven or sunny spot for melting Oven temperature should be 200°F (93°C).
  • 1 sheet Parchment or wax paper For placement.
  • 1 optional Cooling rack For cooled pieces.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Preheat the oven to 200°F (about 93°C).
  • Break the crayons into small pieces, about one inch long.
  • Place the crayon pieces into the star-shaped silicone mold.

Melting

  • Optionally, set the filled mold on a baking sheet.
  • Place the molds into the preheated oven.
  • Keep an eye on the crayons as they melt over 10-15 minutes.

Cooling

  • Remove the molds from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes.
  • Gently pop the cooled crayons out of the molds.

Display

  • Hang or place the Crayon Star Sun Catchers in a sunny window.

Notes

Store the sun catchers wrapped in soft cloth or tissue paper. They can also be gifted to share joy and warmth.
