Crocheting Materials

  • 1 skein Worsted weight yarn in orange
  • 1 skein Worsted weight yarn in green
  • 1 skein Worsted weight yarn in brown
  • 1 each Crochet hook (size H/8 or 5.0 mm)
  • 1 each Tapestry needle
  • 1 each Scissors
  • 1 each Stitch markers (optional)
  • 1 bag Fiberfill stuffing (optional)

Instructions

Create the Pumpkin Body

  • Begin with a magic ring (or slip knot) with 6 single crochets (sc) inside.
  • In the next round, work 2 sc in each stitch (12 sc).
  • Continue increasing in this pattern until you achieve your desired size, generally 24-36 sc.

Shaping the Pumpkin

  • Start decreasing by crocheting two stitches together to close the pumpkin shape.
  • If desired, add fiberfill stuffing as you close it up.

Create the Stem

  • Change to brown yarn.
  • Make a small chain, then single crochet in each chain until the desired length and thickness of the stem is achieved.

Attach the Stem

  • Use a tapestry needle to sew the stem securely onto the top of the pumpkin.
  • Optionally, create small green leaves to embellish your pumpkin.

Notes

Experiment with different yarn weights, sizes, and colors for unique designs. Consider creating a pumpkin patch with various sizes for visual interest and using embellishments like glitter or beads for a festive touch.
