Ingredients
  

Main ingredients

  • 6 pieces Clean, dry eggshells At least 6 eggshells are required.
  • 1/2 cup Table salt
  • 2 cups Sugar
  • various colors Food coloring Use various colors to create different effects.

Additional supplies

  • 1 bowl Small bowls or cups for mixing
  • 1 spoon A spoon for stirring
  • 1 sheet Wax paper or non-stick surface For drying the filled eggshells.
  • 1 cup Warm water Needed for dissolving sugar and salt.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse the eggshells gently under cool water to remove any residual egg white or yolk. Allow them to dry completely on a towel.
  • In a bowl, combine warm water and salt until it dissolves.
  • In another bowl, mix sugar into warm water and stir until fully dissolved.
  • Divide the sugar solution into smaller bowls, and add a few drops of food coloring to each.
  • Carefully pour the colored solutions into the cleaned eggshells.
  • Place your filled eggshells on wax paper or a non-stick surface to dry.

Crystal Formation

  • Leave the shells in a quiet spot for about two to three days for crystal formation.

Unveiling and Enjoying

  • Once crystals have formed, gently tap the shells to crack them open if desired.
  • Admire the beauty of the crystals inside.
  • Consider adding a protective coating to preserve their beauty for longer.

Notes

Store finished eggshell geodes in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. You can reuse eggshells by cleaning them and using fresh solutions for new creations.
