A calming and creative DIY project where Epsom salt and water are transformed into beautiful crystal flowers.
Ingredients
For the crystal solution
- 1 cup Epsom salt Easy to find in drugstores or grocery stores.
- 1 cup Warm water Tap water works fine.
- As desired drops Food coloring Optional, for adding color to your flowers.
For crafting
- 2-4 pieces Pipe cleaners These give the flowers their shape.
- 1 spoon Sturdy spoon For stirring the solution.
- 1 tray Tray or baking sheet To catch spills and keep your workspace tidy.
Instructions
Preparation
- Mix your solution: Combine one cup of Epsom salt with one cup of warm water in a cup or bowl. Stir gently until the salt dissolves completely.
- Add color: If desired, add a few drops of food coloring into the mixture.
- Prepare pipe cleaners: Twist a few pipe cleaners together to shape into a flower.
Assembly and Waiting
- Place the pipe cleaner flower into a small cup or bowl filled with the Epsom salt solution.
- Let the solution and flower sit on a tray or baking sheet to catch spills.
- Wait as the crystals form over the next 6 to 12 hours, observing the gradual transformation.
Finishing Up
- Once the crystals have formed, gently remove the flowers from the solution and let them dry.
- Display your completed Crystal Growing Flower in your living space.
Notes
To maintain crystal formations, keep flowers in a dry area. Optional: cover them with a glass cloche for protection while admiring their beauty.
