Ingredients
  

For the Solution

  • 1 cup 1 cup of water Water should be heated
  • 2 cups 2 cups of sugar Use granulated sugar for best results
  • a few drops Food coloring (optional) Choose your preferred colors

For the Trees

  • several pieces Small branches or twigs Ensure they are clean and dry
  • 1 unit A glass jar or container Jar must be large enough to accommodate the twigs
  • 1 unit A heat source (stove or microwave) For heating the water
  • 1 unit A stirring spoon For mixing the sugar and water
  • 1 unit A small plate or tray To catch any spills

Instructions
 

Prepare the Solution

  • Heat 1 cup of water in a saucepan or microwave until near boiling.
  • Gradually stir in 2 cups of sugar to the hot water until fully dissolved.
  • If using food coloring, add a few drops now to give your crystals some color.

Set Up the Trees

  • Gather small branches or twigs, ensuring they are clean and dry.
  • Place the twigs in the glass jar or container, arranging them to mimic a tree shape.

Grow the Crystals

  • Carefully pour the sugar-water solution over the twigs in the jar.
  • If desired, cover the jar with plastic wrap to help retain heat and moisture. Leave it in a place undisturbed for several days.

Observe the Growth

  • Look for crystal formation—this will take around 24-72 hours.
  • Once crystals have formed, gently remove them from the solution and enjoy your beautiful mini trees.

Notes

Consider different food colorings for a rainbow effect and try using different types of branches or wire shapes for unique designs.
