Ingredients
  

Base Materials

  • 1 cup boiling water Used to dissolve sugar.
  • 3 cups sugar Main ingredient for creating crystals.
  • 1 clean glass jar clean glass jar or container To hold the snowman and sugar solution.
  • pipe cleaners White for snowman structure.
  • 1 string For suspending the snowman.
  • 1 pencil or stick To help suspend the snowman in the jar.
  • food coloring Optional, for adding color to the crystals.
  • glitter Optional, for decoration.

Instructions
 

Prepare the Base

  • Twist the pipe cleaners into the shape of a snowman, forming a bottom ball, middle ball, and smaller head.
  • Use a string to connect them if needed.

Make the Crystal Solution

  • Boil water in a pot.
  • Gradually add sugar, stirring continuously until fully dissolved. (Tip: It may take a few minutes!)
  • Optionally, add a few drops of food coloring for a colored effect.

Begin the Crystal Growth

  • Suspend the snowman in the jar using the pencil; the bottom should not touch the bottom of the jar.
  • Pour the sugar solution into the jar until the snowman is submerged.
  • Place the jar in a location where it won’t be disturbed.
  • In a few hours to a few days, watch as beautiful crystals start to form on the snowman.

Final Touches

  • Once crystals have fully formed, you can embellish with glitter or additional decorations for the snowman.

Notes

Color Choices: Experiment with different colors of food coloring to create a unique snowman. Use other materials like felt or fabric to create alternative snowman forms. Take your snowman outside for a winter-themed photo session!
