Ingredients

Candy Base

  • 1 cup fruit juice (your choice)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons agar-agar powder Can be substituted with gelatin for a softer texture.
  • 1/2 cup water

Additional Ingredients

  • Cornstarch (for dusting) Prevents sticking.
  • Food colorings (optional)
  • Flavor extracts (optional)

Instructions

Preparation

  • Choose silicone molds for easy removal and lightly dust them with cornstarch to prevent sticking.

Making Gelatin Mixture

  • In a medium saucepan, combine the fruit juice and water. Sprinkle the agar-agar powder over the liquid and let it sit for a few minutes to hydrate.

Heating the Mixture

  • Gently heat the mixture over medium heat while stirring constantly until the agar-agar fully dissolves, about 5 minutes.

Adding Sweetness

  • Once dissolved, mix in granulated sugar until fully incorporated. If desired, add food coloring and flavor extracts.

Pouring and Setting

  • Carefully pour the mixture into the prepared silicone molds. Allow to cool at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for 1-2 hours until firm.

Unmolding

  • Gently pop the gummies out of the molds and roll them in cornstarch to keep them from sticking together.

Notes

Experiment with different fruit juices and sugars. For sugar-free options, consider using alternatives like agave syrup or stevia.
