- 1 cup Borax powder Any brand of laundry Borax that is safe for home use.
- 2 cups Water For preparing the Borax solution.

- 1 piece Heart-shaped cookie cutter or mold To shape the crystal ornament.
- 1 piece String or fishing line For hanging the finished ornament.
- 1 piece Pot for boiling water
- 1 piece Spoon for stirring Used to stir the Borax solution.
- Optional food coloring or glitter For added visual effect.
Instructions
Prepare the Solution
- Boil water in a pot (about 2 cups).
- Carefully add approximately 1 cup of Borax powder to the boiling water.
- Stir continuously until the Borax completely dissolves.
- Notice the warm steam and the powder disappearing, leaving clear water.
Setup the Mold
- Place the heart-shaped cookie cutter in the center of the jar or bowl.
- If using a mold, coat it lightly with cooking spray for easy removal.
Add Color (Optional)
- Add food coloring or glitter into the Borax solution for added visual effect.
Create the Crystals
- Pour the Borax solution into the jar or bowl, ensuring it covers the mold.
- Hold the cookie cutter in place as you pour.
- Let it sit undisturbed for at least 6 hours (or overnight) to allow crystals to form.
Remove and Display
- Carefully remove the heart from the mold once crystals have formed.
- Attach a string or fishing line for hanging.
- Admire your sparkling creation!
