Instructions

Preparation

  • Start by boiling water in a pot.
  • Add Epsom salts or sugar to the boiling water (2 cups for every cup of water).
  • Stir continuously until the solution is saturated, meaning no more salt or sugar dissolves.
  • If desired, mix in a few drops of food coloring and stir well for vibrant colors.

Setting Up Your Mold

  • Choose a heart-shaped mold or cookie cutter and place it on a flat surface.
  • Pour a small amount of the solution into the mold, filling it just enough to submerge the bottom.

Adding Crystals

  • Carefully pour the rest of the solution into the jar or container.
  • Gently place the mold into the container, allowing the solution to surround the mold.
  • Optionally, sprinkle some glitter or decorative items into the solution for extra flair.

Waiting and Watching

  • Allow the setup to sit undisturbed in a cool, dry place for 24-48 hours.
  • Check periodically—observe the growth of your crystals!

Final Touches

  • Once your crystals have formed, carefully remove the mold.
  • Rinse the crystal heart under cool water to remove any excess salt or sugar residue.
  • Let it dry completely before displaying or gifting.
