Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack Air-dry clay (natural or colored) Choose based on personal color preference.
  • 1 unit Rolling pin For rolling out the clay.
  • 1 unit A small bowl or jar lid To shape the dish.
  • 1 unit A cutting tool Like a knife or clay sculpting tool.
  • optional unit Paint or markers For decoration.
  • optional unit Clear sealant For a glossy finish.
  • as needed drops Water For dampening the clay if needed.

Instructions

Crafting the Dish

  • Start by kneading the air-dry clay in your hands until it softens.
  • Roll out the clay to about a quarter-inch thick. If it cracks, add a few drops of water to smooth it out.
  • Place your bowl or jar lid upside down on the rolled clay and trace around it gently with the cutting tool.
  • Lift the outer circle off and shape the edges into a gentle, wavy rim.
  • Gently press the center of the circle down into the bowl or lid, creating a hollow space.
  • Take a moment to admire your work and consider colors for decoration, if desired.
  • Allow the dish to dry according to the clay package instructions, which may take several hours.
  • If painting, do this once the dish is completely dry.
  • Apply a clear sealant if desired for shine and protection.

Notes

Store the dish in a safe, dry place when not in use. If needed, refresh its look with paint or a new design. This dish can also store other small items like buttons or essential oils.
