  • 1 clear container mason jar To hold the snowman and crystal solution.
  • 1 piece string or wooden skewer To suspend the snowman.

Preparation

  • Boil about 1 cup of water in a kettle or pan until it reaches a gentle boil.
  • Carefully pour in 3 tablespoons of borax, watching it swirl and dissolve.
  • Stir the mixture gently to ensure all borax has dissolved.
  • Tie string around the middle of your snowman or pierce it with a skewer.

Assembly

  • Pour the borax solution into the clear container.
  • Lower your snowman into the solution carefully, ensuring it is suspended.
  • Place the container in a quiet spot and wait as the crystals form.

Observation

  • After a few hours, check on your creation to see the crystals starting to grow.
  • Let your snowman sit overnight for the best crystal formation.

Final Reveal

  • Gently remove the snowman from the solution the next morning.
  • Display your snowman in a spot where light will catch on the crystals.

Notes

To preserve the snowman's beauty, keep it in a dry, cool spot and avoid cleaning with water. Dust gently with a soft cloth if needed. If it loses luster, recreate it easily with a fresh solution.
