Crystal Growing Solution

  • 1 cup water Must be boiled.
  • 1 cup sugar Add slowly to boiling water.
  • to taste food coloring (optional) Use for customizing colors.

Tools

  • 1 clear glass or plastic container For holding the solution.
  • 1 spoon spoon for stirring Used for mixing solution.
  • 1 heat source Like a stove or microwave.
  • 1 string or toothpick (optional) Helps to hang crystals for growing.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Boil water in a saucepan.
  • Slowly add sugar to the boiling water while stirring continuously until fully dissolved to create the crystal-growing solution.

Customization

  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the solution.

Pouring and Cooling

  • Carefully pour the hot sugar solution into the clear glass or plastic container.
  • Let the solution cool for a few minutes.

Crystal Growing

  • To enhance growth, tie a string to a toothpick, dip it into the solution, and rest the toothpick across the top of the container.
  • Set the solution in a safe, undisturbed place for several days.

Observation

  • Check regularly for crystal formation. Crystals will grow larger the longer they sit.

Enjoyment

  • Once satisfied with the growth, carefully remove and display the crystals or use them as decorations.

Notes

Experiment with different types of sugar and extracts for unique variations. Larger crystals can be achieved by a slower cooling method.
