  • 1 plastic container or a volcano mold For the eruption structure
  • 1 tray or baking sheet To catch spills

Instructions
 

Prepare Your Volcano

  • Choose a plastic container or a mold that resembles a volcano.
  • Place it securely on a tray or baking sheet to catch any overflowing liquid.

Mix the Eruption Ingredients

  • Add 1/4 cup of baking soda to the container.
  • In a separate bowl, mix 1/2 cup of vinegar with a few drops of your chosen food coloring.

Create the Eruption

  • Add a squirt of dish soap to the vinegar mixture.
  • Pour the vinegar mixture into the container with the baking soda and step back to enjoy the explosion!

Observe and Enjoy

  • Watch as the mixture fizzes and bubbles, creating a colorful volcanic eruption.
  • Note the changes in texture and color as the reaction takes place.

Cleanup

  • Allow any remaining materials to dry before disposal.
  • Clean your tray and container for future use.

Notes
