  • Harvest the dandelion flower heads, ensuring they are from a pesticide-free area.
  • Gently rinse the flowers in cold water to remove any dirt or insects and drain well.

Batter Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the milk and egg until smooth.
  • Gradually add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. The batter should be thick enough to coat the flowers.

Cooking

  • In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat oil over medium-high heat. Test for readiness by dropping a small amount of batter into the oil; it should sizzle.
  • Dip the dandelion flowers into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.
  • Carefully place the battered flowers in the hot oil and fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Use a slotted spoon to remove fritters and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
