Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of flour and 1 cup of water. Whisk until smooth and free of lumps—this will be your glue!
  • Inflate a large balloon to your desired egg size. Tie it securely and set it aside.
  • Tear the newspaper or tissue paper into strips, about 2 inches wide and 6-8 inches long.

Application

  • Dip each strip into the glue paste, removing excess paste with your fingers. Lay the strips over the inflated balloon, overlapping them slightly.
  • Cover the entire balloon, leaving a small hole at the top for filling.

Drying and Finishing

  • Let the piñata dry completely, ideally overnight. It should feel stiff and firm to the touch.
  • Once dry, gently pop the balloon and remove it from the hardened paper shell.
  • Fill the inside with candy and small toys through the hole you left open.
  • Cover the hole with more strips of paper, or use additional crumpled paper for texture.
  • Paint the piñata in fun dinosaur colors and patterns. Let your creativity run wild!
  • Tie a ribbon or string to the top, ensuring it’s secure for hanging.

Notes

Swap materials for different looks, use colored tissue paper, and try adding shredded paper or felt for extra texture.
