Materials
- 5 pieces Porous ceramic stones or unglazed terracotta Choose sizes that fit your style.
- 10-20 drops Essential oils of your choice Use various oils for different scents.
- 1 small bowl Small bowl for mixing Ensure it's non-reactive.
- 1 piece Dropper or pipette For easy measurement of oils.
- 1 sheet Baking sheet Used if baking the stones.
- 1 piece Oven For optional curing of stones.
- 1 can Non-reactive finishing spray Optional for a polished finish.
Instructions
Prepare the Stones
- Select porous ceramic or terracotta stones.
- Rinse stones thoroughly and let them dry completely.
Mix Your Aroma
- Choose essential oils that you love.
- Use roughly 10-20 drops of oil per stone in a small bowl.
- Drop the stones into the bowl to absorb the mixture.
Cure the Stones
- Allow the stones to soak up the scent for at least 1-2 hours.
- Optionally, place the stones on a baking sheet and bake at 170°F (about 75°C) for 30 minutes to enhance scent retention.
Finish Up
- Allow the stones to cool completely after baking.
- If desired, spray them with a non-reactive finishing spray for a polished look.
Notes
Experiment with different essential oils based on mood or season, and use non-toxic paints for a vibrant color effect. You can reuse the stones by refreshing the scent with more essential oil or washing them gently.
