Ingredients

  • 1 cup baking soda Base ingredient for the stones.
  • 1/2 cup white vinegar React with baking soda to create fizz.
  • 1/2 cup corn starch Gives structure to the stones.
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil Adds smoothness to the mixture.
  • food coloring (optional) For customizing stone colors.

Instructions
 

Mix the Ingredients

  • In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of baking soda with 1/2 cup of white vinegar.
  • Watch as the mixture fizzes! This is the chemical reaction happening.

Add Corn Starch and Oil

  • Gradually stir in 1/2 cup of corn starch and 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  • Mix until you achieve a smooth, dough-like consistency. The mixture will feel soft and a little sticky.

Color Your Stones (optional)

  • If desired, add a few drops of food coloring to the mix for colorful stones.
  • Use a spoon or spatula to fully incorporate the color.

Mold Your Stones

  • Spoon the mixture into a silicone mold or shape the stones by hand on parchment paper.
  • Use your hands to shape them into smooth, rounded stones or any design you prefer.

Let Them Dry

  • Allow the stones to dry at room temperature for 24-48 hours.
  • They will harden and become solid to the touch, feeling light and airy.

  • Once dry, your baking soda stones are ready to be used as decor, gifts, or garden accents.

Notes
