Mixing

  • Mix with a spatula until a thick dough forms.

Coloring

  • Divide the dough into small portions depending on how many colors you want.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each portion and knead until evenly colored.

Piping

  • Transfer the colored dough into piping bags or squeeze bottles.
  • Pipe small, round buttons onto the prepared wax paper, leaving space between each button.

Drying

  • Allow the candy buttons to dry completely—this usually takes about 24 hours.
  • Once dry, gently peel them off the wax paper.

Notes
