- 1 piece Scissors For cutting the pipe cleaners.

Instructions
Preparation
- Set up a clean, flat surface to work on and lay down newspaper or paper towels to catch any spills.
Coloring
- Take a coffee filter and flatten it on the plate.
- Use washable markers to color both sides of the filter. Be creative by blending colors.
Wet the Filters
- Lightly spray the colored filter with water until damp but not soaked.
Drying
- Allow the filters to dry completely. If short on time, dab them gently with a paper towel.
Creating the Body
- Cut a pipe cleaner in half.
- Bend one half into an 'M' shape to form the butterfly's body and antennae.
Assembling the Butterfly
- Once the filters are dry, stack two or three together.
- Pinch the center and fold them over the middle of the pipe cleaner 'body.'
- Twist the pipe cleaner securely to hold the filters in place.
Final Touches
- Fluff the 'wings' out to make your butterfly more three-dimensional.
- Optionally, tie a string to the top for hanging.
Notes
