Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch and water. Stir gently until the mixture is smooth and free from lumps.
  • If you wish to add color, slowly blend in a few drops of food coloring until you achieve your desired shade.
  • Place parchment paper on a baking sheet for easy cleanup.
  • Turn the mixture onto a clean surface and knead it lightly.
  • Using a rolling pin, flatten the dough to about half an inch thick.

Shaping

  • Use heart and flower cookie cutters to cut out shapes.
  • Place each shape carefully on the parchment-lined baking sheet, leaving space between them for air circulation.
  • If you'd like to add texture or details, use a brush to gently imprint designs on your shapes.

Drying

  • Let your shapes dry completely; air dry for about 24 hours or bake in a warm oven for 15-30 minutes.
  • Check the shapes periodically if using the oven until they feel firm.

Notes

Store finished shapes in a cool, dry place. Clean with a soft cloth if dust collects. If the shapes feel damp, allow them to air out.
