Preparation

  • Gather all the necessary materials on a clean workspace.

Construction

  • Cut a strip of colored paper about 1 inch wide and 6 inches long for the dragonfly’s body.
  • Roll the strip into a tube and secure it using glue or tape.
  • Cut out two large wing shapes from another piece of colored paper (about 4-5 inches each in width).
  • For added flair, consider cutting smaller wing shapes for the top layer.
  • Attach the wings to the top of the body using glue, ensuring they are symmetrical.
  • If desired, add googly eyes to the top of the body.
  • Take a pipe cleaner, cut it into two equal parts, and bend them into antenna shapes.
  • Attach the antennae to the top of the body with glue.

Finishing Touches

  • Use markers or crayons to add details to the wings and body.
  • Embellish with stickers or designs that reflect your personal style!

Notes

You can use recycled materials for this craft. Consider using metallic or glitter paper for added sparkle. Theme your dragonflies by using colors that reflect specific seasons or holidays.
