DIY Firework Suncatcher

Ingredients
  

Materials for Suncatcher

  • 1 roll Clear contact paper or cling film Will serve as the base for the suncatcher.
  • assorted sheets Tissue paper in assorted colors (red, blue, yellow, etc.) Use a variety of colors for a vibrant effect.
  • 1 piece Black construction paper To create the background.
  • 1 piece String or yarn For hanging the suncatcher.
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting the tissue paper and shapes.
  • 1 marker Pencil or marker For outlining shapes on the black paper.
  • optional Glitter or sequins Add for extra sparkle.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface and lay down newspaper or a protective covering.
  • Use the black construction paper to cut out a large circle or star shape for the background.

Creating the Design

  • Cut the tissue paper into small squares or strips and layer them to form vibrant firework-like shapes.

Assembling the Suncatcher

  • Peel off one side of the contact paper and lay it sticky-side up.
  • Start placing your tissue paper shapes on the contact paper, leaving some gaps.
  • Once satisfied with your design, cover it with another piece of contact paper.
  • Smooth out any bubbles and trim the edges to fit the black background shape.

Finishing Touches

  • Punch a hole at the top of your suncatcher and thread the string or yarn through it.
  • Hang it in a bright window to illuminate your beautiful creation.

Notes

Customize with different colors, shapes, or glitter. Store suncatchers between cardboard sheets in a cool, dry place during off-seasons.
