  • 1 sheet Clear contact paper or laminating sheets To create the sticky base for the suncatcher.
  • 1 Scissors For cutting the tissue paper and contact paper.
  • 1 A pencil To draw the firework pattern.
  • 1 A craft knife (optional) For precise cutting if needed.
  • 1 String or ribbon For hanging the suncatcher.
  • 1 A sun catcher template (optional) Can use a printed template for design guidance.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Clear a clean, flat surface for crafting. Lay down newspaper or a drop cloth to catch any stray bits.
  • Draw or print a firework pattern you like. This can be starbursts or abstract shapes, varying in complexity.
  • Cut out the pattern to use as your guide.

Crafting

  • Tear or cut tissue paper into small squares or strips using a mix of colors to mimic the effect of fireworks lighting up the sky.
  • Lay a piece of clear contact paper, sticky side up, on your workspace.
  • Position your template on top of the contact paper for guidance.
  • Start layering the tissue paper shapes onto the sticky side, creating a vibrant explosion of color.
  • Once you’re happy with your design, place another piece of contact paper on top to seal it.
  • Trim around the edges to create a neat finish.
  • Use a hole punch to create a hole at the top and thread a string or ribbon through the hole for hanging.

Notes

Swap materials like craft foam for different textures. Match colors to a holiday theme. Experiment with layers for dynamic designs. Adding a small LED light behind enhances its glow.
