  • 2 tablespoons Gelatin powder Easily found at grocery stores.
  • 1 cup Water For mixing.
  • as needed Food coloring Choose your favorites.
  • 6 Clear plastic or silicone molds Around 1-inch thick.
  • 1 String or fishing line For hanging.

  • 1 Bowl For mixing.
  • 1 Whisk For stirring the mixture.
  • 1 Scissors To cut the string.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Start by boiling about one cup of water in a small saucepan.
  • Once the water is hot, remove it from the heat and slowly sprinkle in two tablespoons of gelatin powder.
  • Stir with a whisk until it dissolves completely.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to the mixture.
  • Carefully pour the mixture into the molds.
  • If desired, add bits of nature such as flower petals or leaves into the molds.

Setting

  • Allow the molds to cool for a few minutes, then transfer them to the fridge.
  • Let the gelatin set for about two hours.

Completion

  • Once set, gently peel the suncatchers from the molds.
  • Cut the string or fishing line to your desired length and attach it to the top of each suncatcher.
  • Find a sunny spot in your home to hang the suncatchers.

Notes

These suncatchers can last for several weeks to a few months with gentle care. Store in a cool, dry place and avoid direct sunlight to prevent fading.
