Preparation

  • Lay down newspaper or a craft mat to protect your workspace.
  • Gather all materials in one place.

Create the Frame

  • Take your metal or plastic hoop and lay it flat.
  • Begin threading glass beads onto your string or fishing line, leaving a tail for hanging.

Thread the Beads

  • Alternate colors or create patterns as you thread the beads.
  • Secure the beads by tying knots in between them or applying a small dab of glue if needed.

Assemble the Suncatcher

  • Once you reach your desired length, loop the string back through the hoop.
  • Adjust the beaded design to your liking.

Finish Your Suncatcher

  • Tie a sturdy knot at the top of your suncatcher, and leave a long enough loop for hanging.
  • Trim any excess string.

Hang and Enjoy

  • Find a sunny spot to hang your suncatcher.
  • Step back to admire how the sun enhances the colors and creates beautiful reflections.

Notes

Customize colors for different seasons, vary hoop sizes for different effects, or add natural elements for added texture. These make great gifts too!
