Preparation

  • Set up a clean, well-lit area where you can comfortably work on your suncatchers. Gather all your materials and keep your glass beads organized.
  • Plan the layout of your beads. Decide whether you want a simple pattern or a more intricate design. Consider mixing different colors and sizes for a more dynamic look.

Assembly

  • Cut a length of fishing line or string (about 24 inches) to allow for some extra length for knots.
  • Begin threading beads onto your fishing line in the order of your design. Enjoy selecting colors that inspire you.
  • Once you’ve added your desired number of beads, tie a knot at each end of the fishing line to secure the beads in place. Trim excess line if necessary.
  • If you’re using decorative wire, cut a piece and create loops or shapes. Attach these to your beaded section for extra flair. You can also glue small charms to your suncatcher for a personal touch.
  • Choose a sunny window or area where light can pass through your suncatcher. Use the fishing line to hang your creation securely.
