Preparation
- Choose a flat surface where any spills can be easily cleaned.
- Gather all your materials for easy access.
Mixing
- Pour water into the clear glass jar, filling it about ¾ full.
- Carefully pour oil into the jar with water; observe it float due to different densities.
- Drop different colors of food coloring into the oil layer and watch as they sink.
- Use the toothpick or skewer to poke and swirl the colors gently.
- If using glow-in-the-dark paint, add a few drops to the oil.
