  • 1 cup water Use room temperature water for ease of mixing.
  • 1 tablespoon white school glue (optional) Can be omitted if desired.
  • 1 tablespoon flour Regular all-purpose flour works well.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Acts as a natural preservative.
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar Helps to preserve the glue.

Preparation

  • In a medium-sized pot, mix 1 cup of water, 1 tablespoon of flour, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir gently until the flour dissolves.
  • Add 1 tablespoon of vinegar to the mixture.
  • Place the pot on the stove over medium heat.
  • Stir continuously with a whisk or spoon until the mixture thickens (about 3-5 minutes).
  • Remove from heat when the mixture reaches a smooth and viscous consistency.
  • Allow the glue to cool before transferring it into an airtight container.

Notes

For thicker glue, add more flour or reduce water. For colored glue, add food coloring during the heating process. Store in the refrigerator for longevity and reheat if thickened.
