Lava Lamp Materials
- 1 bottle or jar A clean, clear plastic bottle or glass jar with a lid Ensure it's clean and dry
- 1/4 bottle Water Fill the bottle about one-quarter full
- 1 bottle Vegetable oil Pour it in until nearly full
- as desired drops Food coloring Use multiple colors for variety
- 2-3 tablets Alka-Seltzer tablets (or vinegar and baking soda) For activation
- optional Funnel For easier pouring
- optional Glitter For extra sparkle

Preparation
- Start with a clear bottle or jar—make sure it’s clean and dry.
- Use a funnel if available for easier pouring.
Assembly
- Fill the bottle about one-quarter full with water.
- Slowly pour vegetable oil into the bottle until it’s nearly full, leaving some space at the top.
- Drop in food coloring—get creative with colors and patterns.
- Break an Alka-Seltzer tablet into smaller pieces and drop them in one at a time to enjoy the bubbling action.
- If desired, sprinkle some glitter for added charm.
- Once satisfied, securely close the lid. Your lava lamp is ready to shine!
