Create a vibrant and customizable rainbow light display using simple materials, perfect for any occasion and suitable for all ages.
Ingredients
Materials Needed
- 1 bottle Clear plastic bottle (e.g., soda or water bottle) Rinse and dry before use
- 1 string LED string lights (battery-operated preferred)
- 1 optional Prism or crystal Optional for enhanced effects
- 5 sheets Colored transparent plastic sheets or cellophane (various colors) Cut into squares (approximately 4x4 inches)
- 1 pair Scissors
- 1 roll Tape or glue
- 1 marker Marker
- 1 container Small container or tray (to hold the setup)
Instructions
Preparation
- Rinse and dry the plastic bottle.
- Remove any labels to ensure clarity.
Creating Color Filters
- Cut colored sheets or cellophane into squares (approximately 4x4 inches).
- Layer different colored sheets together if desired for a unique effect.
Adding the Lights
- Carefully place LED string lights into the bottle, ensuring they are evenly distributed.
- Leave enough of the wire outside for easy access.
Securing the Filters
- Use tape or glue to attach the colored sheets around the opening of the bottle.
- Make sure they are taut to avoid light leaks.
Setting Up the Display
- Stand the bottle upright in your small container tray.
- Turn on the LED lights and watch as colors swirl and project through the filters.
Notes
