Assembly

  • Choose several seashells of various sizes. Larger shells can be the body, while smaller ones can be used for the claws.
  • Using acrylic paint, paint the main shell in your desired color (often red or orange). Let the paint dry completely before moving on.
  • Cut pipe cleaners into small segments for the crab’s legs, typically about 8 pieces for each crab.
  • Once the paint is dry, use craft glue to attach the pipe cleaner legs to the sides of the main shell. Bend the pipe cleaners to simulate crab legs.
  • Use glue to attach googly eyes at the front of the shell. You can add smaller shells or painted dots for additional decoration.
  • If desired, add glitter or draw patterns with markers for personalization.

Notes

Customize colors and materials. Consider using twigs or cardboard cutouts instead of pipe cleaners for legs. Paint crabs in holiday themes for added fun.
