Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup Water Used as a base for the fireworks effect.
  • 1/4 cup Vegetable oil Works best due to its density.
  • various colors Food coloring Use different colors to enhance the display.
  • optional Glitter For an added sparkle effect.

Tools

  • 1 Clear plastic or glass cup Used to hold the water and display the fireworks.
  • 1 Small bowl For mixing the oil and food coloring.
  • 1 Spoon or stir stick For mixing the ingredients.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Fill your cup halfway with water (about 1/2 cup). Observe how clear and calm the water is, setting the stage for your fireworks.
  • In a small bowl, combine the vegetable oil (1/4 cup) with a few drops of food coloring. Stir gently with your spoon and watch how the colors form globules in the oil—this is your “fireworks” mixture.

Create the Fireworks Effect

  • Slowly pour the oil and color mixture over the water in the cup. Admire the dazzling display as the colored blobs sink and burst, creating a vibrant show!
  • For an added touch, sprinkle a little glitter on top of the water after the oil and food coloring have settled.

Notes

Experiment with different food coloring brands for unique shades; neon colors can create stunning effects! Consider using flavored oils or syrups to see how density affects the outcome.
