Materials

  • 1 sheet Transparent plastic sheets or clear contact paper For the base of the suncatcher
  • 2-3 sheets Colorful tissue paper or cellophane For creating colorful wings
  • 1 pair Scissors For cutting materials
  • 1 bottle Craft glue or mod podge For securing the tissue paper
  • 1 piece Black marker or paint For outlining the butterfly design
  • 1 piece String or fishing line Optional for hanging the suncatcher

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Draw or print a butterfly shape on paper and cut out to create a template.
  • Use the butterfly template to cut a piece from the transparent plastic sheet.

Creating the Suncatcher

  • Tear or cut colorful tissue paper into small shapes and arrange them in a swirly pattern on the plastic.
  • Cover the tissue pieces with another piece of transparent plastic to seal the design.
  • Outline the edges of your butterfly with a black marker or paint.
  • Trim any excess plastic, keeping the butterfly shape intact.
  • If desired, attach a string or fishing line to hang your butterfly suncatcher.

Notes

Experiment with different color schemes and shapes for personalized designs. Use glitter to add a sparkling effect and create seasonal themes for decorations.
