Ingredients

Materials

  • 1 sheet Colorful Construction paper (green, blue, yellow, etc.) Use various colors for vibrancy.
  • 1 each Scissors For cutting shapes.
  • 1 each Glue stick or craft glue For assembling the dragonfly.
  • optional each Googly eyes For expressive features.
  • 1 set Markers or crayons For additional designs on the body.
  • 1 piece Craft wire (for antennae) For making the dragonfly's antennae.
  • optional each Pipe cleaners For added stability for the wings.
  • 1 each Pencil For tracing shapes before cutting.

Instructions

Preparation

  • Using the construction paper, cut out an oval shape for the dragonfly's body. Choose a vibrant color that makes your dragonfly pop.
  • Cut out two larger oval shapes and two smaller ones for the wings from the paper using different colors for each set to add fun contrast.

Assembly

  • Begin by gluing the wings onto the back of the body, placing the larger wings on the bottom and smaller ones on top for dimension.
  • Allow a moment for the glue to set as the wings gain their shape.
  • Attach googly eyes to the front of the body using glue for an expressive look.
  • Use markers or crayons to draw additional designs or patterns on the body and wings.
  • Take the craft wire or pipe cleaners and cut them into two equal lengths, bend them and attach them to the top of the dragonfly's head.

Notes

Experiment with different textures and colors of paper for a unique aesthetic. Substitute googly eyes with painted eyes for a rustic look, and feel free to incorporate natural materials like leaves or twigs for an earthy touch.
