  • 1 piece twine or sturdy string
  • optional paint and paintbrush For decoration.
  • 1 piece scissors
  • 1 piece funnel Optional for filling.

Instructions

Preparation

  • If using plastic eggs, carefully open them and clean out any residual plastic or labels. If using foam forms, skip to the next step.

Making the Mixture

  • In a bowl, mix birdseed with peanut butter or vegetable shortening until combined, ensuring the mixture is sticky enough to hold together when squeezed.

Filling the Egg Mold

  • Use a funnel to fill each half of the egg with the birdseed mixture, packing it tightly.

Closing the Egg

  • Reassemble the egg halves and use twine to tie them together securely.

Decorating (Optional)

  • Paint the egg-shaped feeders in pastel colors or designs to celebrate Easter, allowing the paint to dry completely before hanging.

Hanging Your Feeder

  • Create a loop at the top using the twine and hang it from a suitable branch in your garden.

Notes

Customize the feeders with different types of seeds, use dried fruits for variation, and experiment with sizes for varied hanging heights.
