Instructions

Preparation

  • Choose your coffee filters. You can stack several to create multiple petals at once.
  • Dip the filters into water using a shallow dish to avoid spills.
  • Add color by dropping food coloring onto the damp filters or gently brushing watercolors on them.
  • Let the colored filters dry on a paper towel.
  • Once dry, fold each filter into a petal shape by pinching and twisting at the base.
  • Use a pipe cleaner as a stem, wrapping it gently around the base of the flower.
  • Arrange your flowers in small jars or vases.
  • Reflect on your favorite parts of the crafting process together.

Notes

Supervise younger children during the cutting process. Explore different folds and colors, adding personal touches like stickers or glitter for extra flair. Store finished flowers in a light, dry area to preserve them.
