Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 cup cornstarch easy to find in most grocery stores
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar helps with drying
  • Food coloring optional, for personalizing your charms

Tools Needed

  • Mixing bowl
  • Spoon or spatula for stirring
  • Cookie cutters or molds flower shapes work beautifully
  • Baking sheet lined with parchment paper
  • Rolling pin optional, for flattening

Instructions

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the cornstarch and water gently. Stir with a spoon until the mixture is smooth and well blended.
  • Add the white vinegar to the mixture, mixing it in fully.
  • If you'd like to add color, divide the dough into smaller portions. Add a few drops of food coloring to each portion and knead it in with your hands.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Roll it out to a thickness of about ¼ inch with your rolling pin.
  • Use cookie cutters or molds to cut out flower shapes. Gently press down, then lift the shapes carefully.
  • Place the cut-out shapes on the lined baking sheet, spacing them gently apart.
  • Let the charms dry for at least 24 hours until they harden completely.

Notes

Store your charms in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight. To reuse, rehydrate them slightly by soaking in water before reshaping.
