Ingredients
  

Materials Needed

  • 2-5 pieces Coffee filters (white or natural) Choose based on availability; can mix colors.
  • 1 piece Scissors For shapely cuts.
  • From 1 set Markers or watercolor paints For coloring the petals.
  • 1 piece Green floral tape or wire Optional for the flower stem.
  • 1 piece A small container or vase To hold your flower.

Preparation

  • Lay a coffee filter flat on a soft surface.
  • Trim the edges of the filter into a petal shape, creating either pointed tips or rounded edges.
  • Repeat the cutting process with several filters of varying sizes.

Coloring

  • Apply color to the edges of each petal using markers or watercolor paints. Allow colors to blend or contrast as desired.

Assembling the Flower

  • Stack the layers of petals starting with the largest at the bottom and continuing with smaller ones on top.
  • Secure the petals with floral tape or wire around the base.
  • Optional: Cut a length of green floral tape or wire for the stem and attach it to the flower’s base.
  • Place the finished flower in a vase or container and enjoy.

Notes

These DIY flowers can be stored in a cool, dry place. Dust gently to maintain vibrancy. Consider using colored coffee filters for added beauty and involve children in the creative process for family fun.
