Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch

  • 1 piece wax paper
  • 1 piece mixing bowl
  • 1 set measuring cups and spoons
  • 1 piece wooden stick or spoon For stirring.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • In a mixing bowl, combine the water and corn syrup. Stir until well blended.
  • Gradually whisk in the cornstarch until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.

Coloring the Mixture

  • Divide the mixture into separate bowls if using multiple colors.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to each bowl until you reach the desired shade.

Shaping the Mixture

  • Use cookie cutters to create shapes on a sheet of wax paper.
  • Pour the colored mixture into each cutter, filling them halfway.

Drying

  • Allow the sun catchers to dry in a cool, ventilated place for 24-48 hours, until they are firm and translucent.

Finishing

  • Gently remove the firm shapes from the wax paper.
  • Hang them by threading string or fishing line through the top.

Notes

Customize colors with natural ingredients like beet juice or turmeric. Store the finished sun catchers in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
