  • 1 cup water For mixing the paint.
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch Thickener for paint.
  • 1 tablespoon sugar Adds sweetness and preserves paint.

Preparation

  • In a saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1 tablespoon of cornstarch. Whisk thoroughly to remove lumps and achieve a smooth mixture.

Cooking

  • Place the saucepan over medium heat and continue stirring until the mixture thickens to a paint-like consistency, about 3-5 minutes.
  • Once thickened, remove from heat and stir in 1 tablespoon of sugar.

Coloring

  • Pour the mixture into separate mixing bowls.
  • Add food coloring to each bowl, mixing to your desired shades.

Storage

  • Transfer the paints into containers for easy access. Seal and store in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.

Notes

Consider adding edible glitter for extra fun. Use natural color sources for an organic approach, and adjust cornstarch for thicker paint.
