  • 1 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter (or a nut butter substitute) Use sunflower seed butter or soy nut butter for nut allergies.
  • 1/4 cup honey Adjust to enhance texture if necessary.

Preparation

  • Clear a flat surface and gather all materials. Consider using parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Mixing

  • In a large bowl, mix together the peanut butter and honey until well blended.
  • Gradually add cornstarch, stirring continuously.
  • Once combined, use your hands to knead the mixture.
  • If you’d like colorful putty, add a few drops of food coloring at this stage, kneading until evenly distributed.

Texture Adjustment

  • If the putty is too sticky, add more cornstarch.
  • If it’s too dry, add a splash of honey to adjust the consistency.

Enjoying and Storing

  • Once the desired texture is achieved, it’s time to play! Mold, stretch, and create unique shapes.
  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container.

Notes

Try experimenting with different flavored nut butters for a twist. Use cookie cutters to create fun shapes and characters with the putty, and set up a themed play scenario to inspire creativity.
