Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 6 halved Clean eggshells Rinsed and dried thoroughly.
  • 1 cup Borax About 1 cup for the solution.
  • 1 cup Water Hot water to mix with Borax.
  • Variety Food coloring or liquid watercolor Choose various colors for your geodes.
  • 1 set Small bowls or cups For mixing the colored solutions.
  • 1 Spoons for mixing To stir the solution.
  • 1 Cookie sheet or drying rack For placing the filled eggshells.
  • Optional Glitter For added sparkle.

Preparation

  • Carefully rinse and dry your eggshell halves. For best results, let them dry completely.

Creating Borax Solution

  • In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of hot water with 3 tablespoons of Borax. Stir until completely dissolved.

Adding Color

  • Divide the solution into smaller bowls. Add a few drops of food coloring or liquid watercolor to each bowl to create different colors.

Pouring Solution

  • Carefully fill each eggshell half with the colored Borax solution, leaving some space at the top.

Letting Them Sit

  • Place the filled eggshells on a cookie sheet or drying rack. Leave them undisturbed for 24 hours for crystals to form.

Observing the Magic

  • After a day, check your geodes and marvel at the crystalline structures! Gently tap to release any excess solution.

Finishing Touches

  • If desired, add a sprinkle of glitter to your geodes for added sparkle. Allow to dry completely.
