Ingredients
  

Materials for Eggshell Geodes

  • 6 halves Clean eggshells (halved) Make sure they are thoroughly rinsed and dried.
  • 1 tablespoon Baking soda Used to create the crystal mixture.
  • 1/2 cup Water Room temperature is best.
  • to taste drops Basic food coloring Choose any color you desire.
  • as needed amount Clear glue or Mod Podge For securing the mixture in the eggshells.
  • optional Glitter To enhance decorative appearance.
  • 1 small Brush For applying glue.
  • 1 Plastic cup For mixing the crystal solution.

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Rinse empty eggshell halves thoroughly under warm water.
  • Let them dry completely, ensuring they are clean and free of any egg residue.

Creating the Crystal Mixture

  • In a plastic cup, mix 1 tablespoon of baking soda with 1/2 cup of water.
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to achieve your desired shade and stir to combine.

Saturating the Eggshells

  • Using a small brush, apply clear glue or Mod Podge inside each eggshell half.
  • Quickly pour the colored mixture into each eggshell, filling it just below the rim.

Crystal Formation

  • Place the eggshells in a safe location where they can sit undisturbed.
  • Allow them to dry for 24-48 hours and observe the crystal formation.

Finishing Touches

  • Once dry, sprinkle glitter on top for added sparkle.
  • Display your beautiful geodes or use them as gifts!

Notes

Experiment with different colors or natural dyes from fruits and vegetables. Try adding beads for texture. Store geodes in a cool, dry place away from sunlight.
