Ingredients
  

For the Smoke Bombs

  • 8-10 pieces Clean, empty eggshells Ensure they are intact and completely dry.
  • 3 parts Potassium nitrate Available at gardening stores or online.
  • 2 parts Sugar
  • Food coloring or powdered dye Optional for colorful smoke.
  • 1 piece Metal or heat-resistant container
  • 1 pair Safety goggles For eye protection.
  • 1 pair Gloves For hand protection.
  • 1 piece A stirring stick

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Carefully crack the eggshells, ensuring they remain intact and rinse them out. Let them dry completely.

Mixing Ingredients

  • In a well-ventilated area, combine 3 parts potassium nitrate and 2 parts sugar in your metal container.
  • For colorful smoke, add food coloring or powdered dye during the mixing process.

Heating the Mixture

  • Gently heat the mixture on a stove or burner while stirring continuously.
  • You’ll notice the mixture beginning to melt and turn into a syrupy texture.

Filling the Eggshells

  • Once the mixture has melted, carefully spoon it into the eggshells.
  • Fill them about two-thirds full to allow space for expansion.

Setting Up for the Smoke Bomb

  • Allow the filled eggshells to cool and harden completely.
  • Place them in a safe, outdoor area on a non-flammable surface.

Lighting and Enjoying

  • Using a long match or lighter, ignite the edge of the mixture.
  • Step back and enjoy the colorful smoke in action.
