Ingredients

  • 16 oz Hydrogen Peroxide (3% solution) Be cautious with higher concentrations
  • 1 packet Active Yeast (or 1 tbsp of dry yeast) Ensure it's fresh for best results
  • 3 tbsp Warm water Helps activate the yeast
  • 1/2 cup Liquid dish soap Use to create the foam structure
  • Food coloring (optional) Customize for visual effects

Equipment

  • Funnel
  • Empty plastic bottle (16 oz or bigger)
  • Baking sheet or tray (to catch overflow)
  • Gloves and safety goggles (for safety) Use for protection during the experiment

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Lay down newspapers or a baking sheet to contain any mess.
  • Gather all materials within reach.

Mix the Yeast

  • In a small bowl, combine 1 packet of active yeast with 3 tablespoons of warm water.
  • Stir gently and set it aside for a few minutes until it becomes frothy.

Combine the Ingredients

  • Pour 16 oz of hydrogen peroxide into your plastic bottle using a funnel.
  • Add 1/2 cup of liquid dish soap and gently swirl it to mix.
  • (Optional) Add a few drops of food coloring to create an exciting visual effect.

Add the Yeast

  • Once the yeast is frothy, pour it into the bottle with the other ingredients.
  • Step back and observe the magical eruption!

Enjoy the Show

  • Watch as the foam spills out of the bottle, creating a colorful "toothpaste" for an elephant!

Notes

Customize colors, change ratios for different foam amounts, and conduct the experiment outdoors for easy cleanup. Always supervise children during the experiment.
