Ingredients
  

For the Rockets

  • 1-2 teaspoons Baking soda This will create the fizzing reaction.
  • 1/4 cup Vinegar Can substitute with lemon juice.
  • few drops drops Food coloring (optional) For a colorful eruption.
  • 1 unit Small film canisters or plastic soda bottles with caps Choose containers with a tight seal.
  • 1 unit Tissue or small pieces of paper To help with the assembly.
  • Optional unit Safety goggles Recommended for protection.

Preparation

  • Measure out the baking soda: Use about 1-2 teaspoons.
  • Prepare the vinegar: Measure about 1/4 cup for each rocket.

Assembly

  • Place the baking soda inside the film canister or plastic bottle.
  • For a fun colorful eruption, mix in a few drops of food coloring (optional).

Launch Preparation

  • Pour the vinegar into the container, using a funnel for precision.
  • Quickly seal the canister by putting the lid on tightly to trap the gas.

Launch

  • Position your rocket: Place the canister on the ground, lid-side down.
  • Quickly take a few steps back as you wait for the reaction.

Enjoy the Show

  • Hear the pop: In a few seconds, the canister will pop!
  • Enjoy the fizzy explosion as it releases the gas.

Notes

You can experiment with different amounts of baking soda and vinegar for various effects. Using scented vinegar or adding glitter can enhance the experience. Encourage children to wear safety goggles while conducting the experiment.
