Ingredients
  

Base Mixture

  • 1/2 cup Baking soda Base ingredient for the foam
  • 2 tablespoons Dish soap Helps create the foam structure

Reactants

  • 1 cup Vinegar Reacts with baking soda to create foam
  • various colors Food coloring Different colors create a rainbow effect

Materials

  • as needed pieces Tall containers or cups To contain the foam overflow
  • 1 tray Tray or plastic bin To catch any mess from the foam
  • as needed pieces Measuring cups and spoons For accurate measurement
  • as needed pieces Stirring sticks or popsicle sticks To mix the ingredients

Instructions
 

Preparation

  • Cover your table with a plastic tablecloth or newspapers to catch the foam overflow.
  • Gather all materials within reach for a smooth crafting experience.

Mix the Base

  • In each container, add 1/2 cup of baking soda.
  • Pour 2 tablespoons of dish soap on top of the baking soda.
  • Mix gently using a stirring stick until thoroughly combined.

Add Color

  • Using the food coloring, squirt a few drops into each container.
  • Create patterns or blend colors for a rainbow effect.

The Combustion!

  • Slowly pour 1 cup of vinegar into each container.
  • Step back and watch the foam erupt! Enjoy the colorful explosion as it bubbles up and overflows.
