Ingredients
  

For the Volcano Eggs

  • 6 large large eggs Hard boil the eggs.
  • 1 cup baking soda For creating the eruption.
  • 1/2 cup vinegar Used to trigger the eruption.
  • Food coloring (various colors) For visual effects.
  • Plastic squeeze bottles or pipettes For pouring the vinegar.
  • A tray or baking dish To catch the overflow.
  • Optional: glitter or small figurines For added fun.

Preparation

  • Hard boil the eggs by placing them in a pot of water, bring to a boil, then let simmer for 10-12 minutes. Remove from heat and cool them in ice water.
  • Once cooled, crack the top of each egg and scoop out the yolk, creating a hollow shell.

Create the Volcanic Reaction

  • In a bowl, add baking soda and a few drops of food coloring. Mix until combined.
  • Using a spoon, fill the hollow eggs with the colored baking soda mixture.
  • In a separate container, combine vinegar with a few drops of food coloring.

Erupt!

  • Take your filled eggs to a tray or baking dish. Squeeze or pour the vinegar into the eggs one at a time and watch the eruption!
  • Observe the reactions and enjoy the colorful display!
