Ingredients
  

Materials

  • 1 container A clear plastic container or jar (e.g., a mason jar or a shallow container) Make sure the container is clean.
  • 1 package Blue gelatin (for water) Follow package instructions for preparation.
  • Several pieces Toy sea creatures (fish, crabs, starfish, etc.)
  • 1 cup Decorative sand or colored pebbles This will form the bottom layer of the aquarium.
  • 1 bunch Plastic plants or faux seaweed For enhancing the underwater scene.
  • 1 pair Scissors Used for crafting.
  • 1 bottle Craft glue To adhere decorations.

Preparation

  • Clean the container to ensure it is free of any residue.
  • Pour a layer of decorative sand or colored pebbles at the bottom of the container to create a base.

Create the Ocean Effect

  • Prepare blue gelatin according to the package instructions, letting it cool slightly but not set completely.
  • Gently pour the gelatin over the sandy base until the container is filled about three-quarters full, leaving room for the sea creatures.

Add Sea Life

  • Carefully place toy sea creatures into the gelatin while it’s still unset, positioning them for a natural look.
  • Add faux seaweed or plastic plants to enhance the underwater scene by pushing them gently into the gelatin.

Final Touches

  • Allow the gelatin to set completely, following the package instructions for optimal firmness.
  • Once set, the aquarium is ready to be displayed or played with!

Notes

Customize colors with different gelatin or food coloring. You can also use origami fish or seasonal decorations to adapt the aquarium for holidays.
