Preparation
- Fill your clear jar three-quarters full with water to create the base for your fireworks display.
- In a small bowl, add about two tablespoons of vegetable oil.
- Choose your food coloring colors and add several drops to the oil. The colors won't mix; they will float.
Creating the Fireworks
- Gently stir the oil and food coloring mix with a spoon. Observe how the colors break apart, creating vivid drops.
- Slowly pour the oil mixture into the jar filled with water. Watch as the colors sink and spread, mimicking fireworks!
